Wega Racing Team: the adventure continues

Emotions were running high on the asphalt at the Shanghai Tianma Circuit (STC), where an unleashed Wega Racing Team took on new challenges in the ASR Honda Fit China series.

The qualifying round for the first race was particularly challenging because our colleague Arnaud Dupuis was driving a new car, which had to be broken in at 6000 rpm instead of 7500. In spite of this he managed to qualify in ninth place and put in a solid race, passing three other competitors to come in sixth place overall.

After a grueling battle over five laps without the pace car, he managed to pass contestants Mai, Mulder and Michael to regain his starting position of tenth place. In the same race the second pilot from team Wega, Emmanuel Carcassonne, took advantage of the serious accident involving his adversary Richard Capo to pass from twelfth to fifth place after having driven a fantastic race. Thanks to the points accrued in the last two races, the Wega Racing Team pilot is now leading the championship in a tie with Dutch pilot Boyd Mulder.Wega Racing Team_ (1)

Then Arnaud Depuis hit the track for the Tianma Lunjia Race, an «open class» race which pitted different classes against one another: Honda Fit 1600cc turbo, 1800cc and 2000cc. Arnaud started from 15th place and drove a memorable race, passing 11 other pilots in 8 laps, making it to fourth position in the overall standings and third in his category. The performance earned him an interview from the podium for Chinese TV.
