Best Coffee Taster 2014 comes to Susegana

Espresso is a symbol of the Made in Italy trademark and to exalt its organoleptic properties also means to spread the culture of coffee by placing a value on excellence and conscious consumption.

L’Istituto Internazionale Assaggiatori Caffè (Iiac) promotes a rigorous tasting method and invites the most talented professionals to participate in the 2014 Best Coffee Taster Championship.

The championship series recently touched down in Susegana at the headquarters for Wega Macchine per Caffè. Competitors tasted four coffees without knowing the brand, evaluating them with a tasting chart. A statistical program for sensory analysis called Big Sensory Soft assessed their performance and assigned points to each contestant. Each stage will be overseen by an Iiac professor to guarantee that the competition follows the proper procedures.
